Sodium water glass

Sodium water glass

Sodium water glass from the chemical plant Rudniki is an aqueous solution of sodium silicate that is made of high quality Grudzeń Las silica sand and alkaline fluxes.
Water glass is characterized by a modulus, which is the molar ratio of SiO2 / Na2O ranging from 1.6 to 3.5.

It is used as a binder in the sand mould production in foundries, as an adhesive in the paper industry or in the waste water treatment to remove heavy metals. It can be used in the construction industry as well. Water glass is used here as an admixture to concrete which shortens its setting time and also does not let in water.

Potassium water glass

Potassium water glass

Potassium water glass from the chemical plant Rudniki is an aqueous solution of potassium silicate that is produced from high quality Grudzeń Las silica sand and alkaline fluxes. This water glass is characterized by the modulus, which is the molar ratio of SiO2 / K2O ranging from 2.6 to 3.2.

It is used for wood, stone and masonry impregnation or for the production of paints and sealants in the construction industry. Potassium silicates also have a positive effect on plant physiology. They strengthen the cell walls and create a protective barrier against germs.
